Approaches

The following is a list of some of the educational approaches I will be using with language arts students:

Dialogue journals/Buddy journals
Reader's theatre
Directed reading
Choral reading
Combination of whole word and phonics-based approaches to reading
Combination of language arts and music

I believe that reading and writing should be taught simultaneously. What better way for a child to learn to read than by reading what he/she writes?
